Head of Department

"It's my pleasure to introduce the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). I have been working as the professor and head of the department since, from six years. Our department offers B.Tech in Computer Engineering (CE) and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).  The aim of the department is to inculcate the culture of continuous learning in young minds and make them able to adapt to change in technology. The CSE department has a team of highly qualified, experienced, and energetic faculty members.  Motivated faculty members are always mentoring young minds to be globally competent. The vision of every faculty member is to develop and improve creative thinking and analytical skills of the students. The academic plan of the department provides an opportunity for the students to learn the strong fundamental, advanced, research, and entrepreneur courses of Computer Science and Engineering domain.  The well-equipped computing infrastructure with high configuration computers, recent versions of the software is boosting our students' practical knowledge. To improve the programming skill and logical thinking of the student, in syllabus all theory courses have practical sessions with more on the project-based study. Our department faculty use activity-based teaching and evaluation methods in all theory and lab courses. Using these methods, we are providing an opportunity for the students to learn by doing.

Since, the Department has active MOUs with reputed organizations like Redhat, TCS, Infosys, AnekaCloud, KPIT, etc.  The Department has collaborated with various industries for student and faculty training, industry-sponsored projects, and internships. Machine Learning and Data Science are two major research areas wherein the Department has made significant contributions in the recent past. It's a matter of pride that many students from the Department have completed research internships at organizations like DRDO, BARC, DIAT, NIT Surthkal, and Chang Gung University, Taiwan. The department has an academic exchange program with universities Malaya University, Malaysia. Many eminent professors like Dr.  Shivakumar from Malaya University, Malaysia, and Dr.  Rajkumar Buyya from Melbourne university of Australia used to visit our department for interaction with students and faculty members. "

I take this opportunity to invite you to be a part of our efforts as we together propel the Computer Science and Engineering Department to greater heights. In closing, I wish all the students and faculty a good academic career.
