Overview

The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering program is designed to make the students ready for industry standards and solve societal and technical problems by using domain knowledge. The real world projects taken prepare students to understand the process of solving societal problems. The program features advanced technologies in domain and curriculum that draw on insights from various industrial domains.

Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum prepares students to tackle industrial and societal problems by applying gained domain knowledge. Students will learn best practices in solving real world problems by applying sequential methods of problem identification, formulation, design, develop, deploy and maintenance.

Students learn to use the latest programming languages along with necessary domain knowledge as and when required. Students will be given the opportunity to hone their skills in effectively by selecting one of the three tracks as per their choice. Three tracks are: Industry Internship & Project (IIP), Undergraduate Research Experience (URE), Entrepreneurship Development (ED).

Acquired Skills

The Computer Engineering core curriculum focuses on the following key skills:

  • System Software
  • Software Development
  • Software Testing
  • Networking
  • Database Technologies

Program Paths

The Computer Engineering program consists of 3 tracks which are given under Choice Based Credit System. Final year students can chose any one the given tracks for their eighth semesters.

Industry Internship & Project (IIP):

Internship is designed to expand the depth and breadth of academic learning of students in their particular areas of study. It is an opportunity for students to receive experience in applying theories learned in the classroom to specific experiences in the community and work world. During this Internship it is expected that students should identify the problems arising in the industry related to Engineering and they have to give the solution to the company. Students are expected to do internship for 20 weeks.

Undergraduate Research Experience (URE):

For the engineering technology students, research experiences allow them to carry out in-depth study of engineering concepts, while emphasizing hands-on experiences and practical applications. Participating in research projects strengthens the student’s resume, and fulfills the requirements of present day employers, who demand sound engineering skills in their employees.

Entrepreneurship Development (ED):

Under Entrepreneurship Development track students can develop and apply an entrepreneurial way of thinking that will allow them to identify and create business opportunities that may be commercialized successfully.
