About The Department

The Automobile Engineering Department (Presently Automotive Technology) was started in 1983 with an intake of 60 to B.E. (Automobile) program and is one of the oldest departments in Maharashtra offering specialized UG program in Automobile Engineering (Presently Automotive Technology). PG program in Automobile Engineering (M. Tech. Automobile) (Presently Automotive Technology) was started in 2010-11. Department has state-of-art laboratory infrastructure and developed research facilities to foster research culture amongst the students. Highly qualified and experienced faculty, through the use of active learning techniques, strengthens the teaching-learning process by implementation of outcomes-based education. With choice-based credit systems, students are being trained to become industry ready through various tracks as industry-internship & project, undergraduate research experience, and entrepreneurship development. In-line with the changing industry scenario, the curriculum revision of both UG and PG programs takes place regularly. According to the Govt. initiatives, courses on Electric and Hybrid Vehicles have been incorporated in the curriculum. Looking at industry's diversity needs, from academic year 2020-21 department has started One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Electric & Autonomous Vehicles (PGD-EAV) Program is association with Automotive Research association of India (ARAI), Pune, which is Govt. of India’s well know research institute in Automotive Sector. Both UG and PG programs have been accredited / reaccredited by NBA New Delhi. Department conducts regularly programs, workshops for students and faculty members. Department has also conducted programs in association with various institutions like Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkuru, Karnataka; Ramchandra College of Engg., Eluru, Andhra Pradesh; ARAI, Pune; Mathwork, Akar, Altair etc. and also with abroad like American University of Sharjah, NAFEMS etc. The department invites the deserving, dedicated & enthusiastic students to join us and cultivate their bright future to enjoy the fruits later. Teaching-Learning : Summary

  • Maximum emphasis on classroom teaching as well as experiential learning through practicals, seminars, projects etc.
  • Every faculty uses modern teaching aids such as LCD Projectors, OHP projectors etc.
  • Students visit nearby industry as well as Automotive Exhibitions like AUTO EXPO for better understanding.
  • Special coaching for failed students.
  • Students feedback is analyzed by every faculty and acted upon accordingly
  • Course Files & Weekly report on conduct of theory classes for each subject are maintained by all the faculty
  • Work progress reports are monitored by HOD and Director
  • Reports to parents are sent every month giving details of attendance and Internal Assessment marks of their wards
